Nigeria to Supply Dangote Refinery with 24 Million Barrels of Crude
Between October and November, Dangote Refinery, owned by Aliko Dangote, is set to receive up to 24 million barrels of Nigerian crude, according to reports from Bloomberg.
The mega refinery, the largest in both Africa and Europe, is expected to take in 400,000 barrels of Nigerian crude per day over the next two months as it focuses on relying on local supply for its operations.
This comes against the backdrop of the commencement of the naira-for-crude initiative between the Nigerian government and refineries operating in the country.
It is expected that with this supply, the Dangote refinery, which began supplying petrol to the Nigerian market in September, will have enough crude to refine, potentially ending the recurring fuel scarcity that has plagued the country since the beginning of the year.
