NAFDAC destroys N75million worth of expired, fake goods

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on Thursday, November 17, destroyed seventy-five million naira (N75m) worth of expired, fake and substandard products at Kuje, Abuja.
Led by its Acting Director-General, Yetunde Oni, and witnessed by several other important health sector representatives, the products that had been deemed harmful to citizens were destroyed in fire.
Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, Dr. Amina Shamaki, was also on hand to supervise the destruction of the harmful goods.
The move continues NAFDAC’s determination to rid the country of health risks that could arise as a result of the usage of these substandard products.
