Aiyedatiwa’s campaign took him to every corner of the state, where he listened to the concerns of the people and made key pledges to address their needs. He pointed to his extensive travels across both urban and rural areas as a key factor in understanding the challenges facing the state.

“The only candidate that went through the entire local government, not just the capital city, all communities,” he emphasized. “In almost all the communities we visited, we saw the roads and the conditions they live in, we heard their voices, and we listened to their yearnings and aspirations.”

With a victory margin of 248,000 votes over his nearest rival, Aiyedatiwa’s win marks a strong mandate for his administration as he looks ahead to another term at the helm of the oil-rich state.

The governor expressed his determination to meet the expectations of the people, assuring them that he would deliver on his promises despite the challenges posed by limited resources.

“They have that belief in me,” he said. “They believe that whatever we say is what we will do. We will not tell them what we cannot do. We will do all that we have promised.”
