Have you met Lawal, the physically challenged guy that makes palm slippers?
Babatunde Lawal has been growing in prominence on social media in the last couple of days.
In fact, he has caught the attention of the commonsense senator, Ben Murray-Bruce.
And it’s all for a good reason: he makes nice palm slippers.
But, what is so special about making palm slippers? Are there not many others who the same?
Yes there are but, Lawal’s narrative is more endearing to many because he sits in a wheelchair.
Lawal was reportedly shot by armed robbers a couple of years ago. That left him partially paralysed, confining him to a wheelchair.
But he hasn’t let that stop him from living out his dream.
He had learnt a handwork before the accident and he continues to practice even on his wheelchair.
And he’s been churning out palm-slippers attractive enough to attract Murray-Bruce who has already partronized the young entrepreneur.
The #buyNaijatogrowtheNaira movement has also helped to give traction to his story which we hope continues to turn into benefits for him.
He can be reached at 1 Asaye Street Obawole Ifako ijaye, Local Government Area, Lagos state and on 07035694304.
I admire Tunde. If he can start a business, why cant you? I just called and ordered 10 pairs #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira pic.twitter.com/fNgFaUftCW
