Rotimi Akinola: Dear Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, please park well

Let me say it again. Mr Fatai Owoseni, please step aside and let me see road.

I heard about how you ranted before police officers in Ikeja on why some of them are corrupt. I heard you were shocked to hear of top officers who are on the payroll of fraudsters. You were livid with officers who abuse their power, I heard. You vowed not to protect those who wrongfully arrest innocent Nigerians.

You have my blessing. But wait first. Are you not the same commissioner who “lied” on peacefully protesting UNILAG students?

You haven’t forgot, have you? I’m sure you know Femi Adeyeye – the “the fellow” you, without evidence on TVC News, said, “has an antecedent of violence”.

Under your watch, Adeyeye and his “violent gang” were charged before a mobile court and remanded in Kirirkiri Prison. They were not freed till activists exposed the “fact” that police may have lied before that mobile court to get Adeyeye and the others in jail. And why? Because you’re on UNILAG’s payroll?

Moment Adeyeye, others, regained freedom after ordeal inside inglorious Kirikiri Prison.

I hate corrupt police officers too. I also feel anyone living in a mud house shouldn’t wear white.

Excuse me sir, lead by example, don’t abuse your own power and let’s watch your men follow the lead.

Until then, Dear Mr Owoseni, please park well make I see road.
