Man kills 6-year-old daughter “because I love her”
An American father has allegedly stabbed his daughter in the chest because of the “love” he had for her.
Seth Pickering recently separated from the six-year-old’s mother. The couple are locked in a custody battle for the girl who was temporarily placed under the care of a custodian.
Pickering “kidnapped” Lila from the custodian, took her to a national park where he stabbed her to death in front of two rangers.
He reportedly told police he killed the girl so “they won’t take her from me” because “I love her”.
Police said the 36-year-old father insisted “it was what she (his slain daughter) would have wanted”.
The alleged killing happened in North Carolina last Friday.
Pickering is being charged for murder.
