Man accused of killing “cheating” hubby in danger of dire judgement
Onyinyechi Dennis is dead and the person being held responsible for her demise is, strangely, her living heartthrob.
An argument was said to have ensued between the deceased and Michael David on April 7 at their Ojoku, Olodi-Apapa area of the Lagos state.
“Are you cheating on me?”
That’s the question prosecutors claimed David asked his late wife before reportedly stabbing her with a kitchen knife after allegedly getting no concrete answer.
Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011, forbids this kind of occurrence.
David, 31, said the claims are untrue but the Ebute Meta Magistrate court that heard the case, Friday, may be disregarding the innocence plea.
Chief Magistrate, Mr O.O. Olatunji has ordered the accused to be confined to the Ikoyi Prison pending when the court receives legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions..
