Lagos teacher arrested for slapping 3-year-old pupil in viral video
The Lagos state Police Command has arrested a school teacher for slapping a three-year-old pupil identified as Abayomi Michael at Christ-Mitots School in the Ikorodu part of the state.
The arrest of the teacher, Stella Nwadigo, was confirmed by the Command’s Spokeman, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, on Wednesday.

This comes after a viral video began making the rounds showing the teacher physically abusing the pupil.
This led to widespread backlash and calls for her arrest.
“The teacher has been taken into custody and is currently undergoing investigation,” Hundeyin announced.
He went to reveal that investigations will follow, while promises of the Force’s zeal to ensure “justice is served.”
In its reaction, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) took to its official X account to assure that investigations will follow in a bid to ensure th appropriate sanctions are handed down.
“We are pleased to inform the public that the teacher in question has been arrested by Owutu FSU, and an investigation has commenced in earnest.
“Indeed, institutions of learning should be safe, warm, and protective environments for all children in their care,” the statement read.
The Agency assured members of the general public that the stance of the government of Lagos state is to ensure children are protected from abuse and offenders get punished.
