Lagos is the world’s third worst city to live in.
A report from The Economist Intelligence Unit which measures the Global Liveability index says so.
Of the 140 cities ranked, Lagos placed 138th.
Only Tripoli and Dasmascus in war torn Libya and Syria are adjugded to be worse off than Lagos.
According to the report, Lagos is only better than Tripoli by the slightest of margins. Tripoli’s overall rating stands at 35.9 out of a hundred while Lagos’ is 36.
The ranking rates cities across five broad categories including stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.
In terms of stability, Lagos was scored 10 out of 100 while it scored 37.5 in healthcare.
33.3% in education, 46.4% in infrastructure, and 53.5% in Culture & Environment ensured that Lagos finished at the lowest rung of the table.
Six of the world’s ten best cities to live in are from Canada and Australia. Cities from Austria, New Zealand, Finland and Germany completes the list.
The bottom ten has five African cities with Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Algeria and Libya keeping Nigeria company..
