Ladoja to receive beaded crown as ‘Otun Olubadan’ tomorrow
Rashidi Ladoja, the former governor of Oyo State will be crowned as the Otun Olubadan tomorrow. The political stalwart will receive the beaded crown from the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.
The crowning ceremony will take place at the inaugural meeting of the Olubadan-in-Council to be presided over by Oba Olakulehin.
Ladoja had earlier rejected the beaded crown when other members of the Olubadan-in-Council were crowned by the late Oba Mahood Lekan Balogun. He also dragged the Oyo State government and the Olubadan-in Council to court over the matter.

However recently, the former governor made a u-turn and announced on a radio station in Ibadan that he accepted to receive and wear the beaded crown as part of the new requirements to ascend the coveted throne of Olubadan.
“I will receive the crown if that is what will hinder me from becoming the Olubadan of Ibadan land,” Ladoja said last Sunday. The matter appears to be resolved as the stage is set for the crowing of Ladoja on Monday.
One report quotes a source that confirmed the former governor received the letter on Friday evening that “the crown befitting of his status as Otun Olubadan will be presented to him at the inaugural meeting of Olubadan-in-Council to be presided over by Oba Owolabi Olakulehin on Monday,12th August, at the new Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan.”
