Nigerians are tired of Tinubu’s govt, they will push for change in 2027 – Kwankwaso

Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso

The national leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, said Nigerians are fed up with President Bola Tinubu’s government and will push for change in the 2027 general elections.

Kwankwaso disclosed this when he received nearly 1,000 All Progressives Congress (APC) members who defected to the NNPP in Kano State on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

The reception ceremony for the decamped APC members from Dala, Kiru and Gwale local government areas was held at his residence on Miller Road in the North-West State.

He claimed that the current Federal Government has made life miserable for millions of Nigerians through its policies and reforms, adding that no intimidation will deter the people from seeking a change in 2027.

“Nigerians, more specifically northerners, have suffered enough and no amount of pressure or intimidation will change their minds.

“Nigerians should rethink the current dispensation, it has now become clear that the APC-led government is clearly against the poor masses and will never change.

“It is now clear that regardless of their beliefs and plans to use the security agents and INEC in the forthcoming elections, it will not be possible as Nigerians are tired and will surely struggle for change” the former Kano Governor stated.

Kwankwaso says APC is crumbling in Kano

Kwankwaso, the NNPP presidential torchbearer in 2023, described the occasion as historic, noting that the number of defectors in his party showed that the APC structure is completely falling apart in the affected places.

He said though it was created to salvage the hardship of the poor masses, the APC has now turned against the people with insecurity and poverty becoming the order of the day and Nigerians are tired.”
