Kogi LG polls: Vehicles prohibited during Saturday exercise

Ahead of the upcoming LG election, the Kogi State government through the Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo has announced that vehicles should not ply the road between 7 am to 4 pm on Saturday.

This directive was contained in a statement issued at the State capital, Lokoja on Friday.

The decision according to him is to facilitate free movement during the voting exercise.

“The decision is also to guarantee the security of voters and citizens across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.“Already, the state government has directed security agencies to enforce the order in the interest of the people and to ensure that offenders are punished”, he said.

In light of this, all security agencies have been tasked with the responsibility of ensuring offenders are punished.

While still speaking, Fanwo notably enjoined citizens to come out and vote massively, with the promise that their choices will truthfully reflect in the outcome of the ballot.

He also said that their safety is paramount and assured prospective voters adequate security presence on ground.
