Jungle Justice: Mob ignores suspected kidnapper’s plea for mercy, burns him to death
A man suspected to have kidnapped a baby was burnt to death in the Gboko area of Benue state on Wednesday.
The man was reportedly trying to make away with a three-month-old baby belonging to one Blessing Aondoakaa when a mob attracted by the mother’s shouts caught up with him.
“We just heard the baby’s mother screaming ‘thief, thief’ and we came out only to see the boy running with the baby,” an eyewitness said.
“Some boys in the area collected the baby and started beating him while the others were looking for tyre and calling more people to come out.
“He was begging and crying but the other boys did not listen. He was stoned to death and eventually set ablaze,” the source added.
About two weeks ago, two kidnapping suspects were burnt alive in the same Gboko area of the state..
