Israel Adesanya Equals Historical UFC Record In Du Plessis Clash

UFC Legend, Israel Adesanya, popularly known as “The Last Stylebender, equalled a history milestone when he and South African Middleweight UFC Champion, Du Plessis, clashed on Sunday.
The Nigerian lost the highly anticipated UFC 305 matchup to Du Plessis in the 4th round at Perth Australia.
A submission choke ended Adesanya as Du Plessis proved too tricky even for the stylish Nigerian.
Despite the loss, Adesanya took home many positives as he equalled a historical record of 12 consecutive title fights.
The fight marked Adesanya’s 12th consecutive title fights within five years.
This means that the Nigerian is now tied for the 3rd longest streak in UFC fight history.

The record for the longest streak in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is still held by American, Jon Jones.
Jones’ record stands at 16 title fights.
Fellow American UFC great, Demetrious Johnson, stands at 13 title fights, in second position.
Brazilian female UFC Legend, Amanda Nunes, comes in at third position, alongside Georges St-Pierre and now, Adesanya, all tied on 12 title fights.
