Imo Zenith Bank Robbery: Children of hero policeman get N1m, scholarship reward from NDDC
The children of Sergeant Chukwudi Iboko, the gallant police officer who was killed in a shootout with a notorious robbery gang at a Zenith Bank in Imo State, have been rewarded with a N1m cash gift by the Niger Delta Development Commission.
Iboko, who fathered seven children before his death, was killed during the robbery gang’s operation last February.
The slain officer’s heroic exploits were captured by a Close Circuit Television that went viral at the time.
The children have also been awarded scholarship by NDDC.
NDDC’s Managing Director, Mr. Nsima Ekere, made this known in a statement released on Sunday.
At the time of Iboko’s death, many well-meaning Nigerians had offered to donate some amount of money for the children’s upkeep.
Members of the robbery gang responsible for Iboko’s death have all been arrested.
