Graphic Photos: Nigeria police “shoots man dead” as he prepares for father’s burial

This young man, hours after losing his father, was reportedly shot in the head multiple times by a Nigerian police officer.
The man hails from Abala in Obinggwa LGA, Abia State, where the forced tragedy happened this at about 12 noon on Wednesday.
Eyewitnesses said the man just lost his dad and was on his way to withdraw money from a bank when he met his death.
He was going to the bank to get cash so he could carry his late father’s dead body to a local morgue.
The police reportedly stopped him and seized his motorbike (okada). They put the okada in their vehicle and was about driving away when the bereaved young man started struggling with them.

He reportedly held onto the police vehicle and was trying to force the door open so he could retrieve his motorbike.
It was then one of the police officers in the car shot the man several times.
Seeing what they had done, the police reportedly drove off for fear of mob attack.
It’s double tragedy for the man and his father. Both wound up dead hours apart.
The police, Friday, told NewsroomNG the officer accused of pulling the trigger, Corporal Patrick Kalu, has been arrested.
“He is being internally investigated by the police and the family of the victim was invited to the trial,” Abia State police spokesperson, Onyeke Udeviotu Ezekiel, told us this morning.
“Other eyewitnesses were also called in to testify against the officer.
“If he’s found culpable, we will take him to court for the whole world to see that justice is being done,” he said..
