Gov Yusuf Dissolves 44 LG Caretaker Committees in Kano
Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has dissolved all 44 local government caretaker chairmen in the state.
Spokesperson to the Governor, Sanusi Bature, announced this development in a statement released on Thursday.
The state House of Assembly had, last week, approved a two-month extension to tenure of the LG Chairmen initially billed to end on September 8.
Local government elections in Kano state is set for October 26 this year.

The Caretaker Chairmen have now been mandated to transfer power to the Directors of Personnel Management in the local governments.
He seized the opportunity to appreciate the efforts of the Chairmen thus far.
“This dissolution applies to all chairmen, vice chairmen, secretaries, and councillors,” Yusuf stated.
