Gang armed with charms, gun “attempts” Lagos bank customers robbery
An attempt by two armed men to rob bank customers in Lagos has amounted to nothing.
The policemen who foiled the robbery spotted two men on motorcycle in front of a First Bank branch located in the Trinity area of Lagos State.
The incident happened at about 12:45 p.m. last Friday, the police said in a statement.
“The two men were acting in suspicious manner,” the police said.
“As the police team closed up on them, one of the men fled the scene with the motorcycle while the other one was apprehended.”
“Upon a search of the said man, one locally-made double barrel shot gun with four cartridges and some charms were recovered from him.”
“Preliminary inquiry reveals that the two men were waiting for bank customers to rob.
“The apprehended suspect is in police custody. Efforts to apprehend the other gang member is been intensified. State CID Panti-Yaba is investigating.”
