Fighting Cancer: Friends raise £10,000 in 6 days, plan to take Paul Arisa abroad for treatment
You may have missed the story, Paul Arisa is a 27 year old graduate of Estate Management who was diagnosed of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a form of cancer, three years ago.
While initial treatment led to some improvement, the situation eventually degenerated now leaving Arisa with a huge neck mass.
His friends launched an appeal for funds on social media recently to help raise money for his treatment which had been stalled for lack of funds.
Six days ago, one Cynthia Morgan, who resides in the United Kingdom, opened a gofundme account to raise £8,000 on his behalf. The fund has exceeded target having since raised £9,993.
An excited Cynthia has since expressed her gratitude for the generous donations, but it is not yet uhuru.
She writes:
Initially the plan was to raise money to fund Paul’s Medical bills in Nigeria, but advice from well wishers and Doctors is that he stands a better chance abroad.
We are trying all our best to get him to the UK where he can receive the best care and treatment possible and we know how expensive this can be. The doctors in Nigeria advice that this should be as soon as possible as his body is getting weaker.
Therefore I urge that everyone continues to share this campaign so we can bring our dear friend to the UK or anywhere else he can receive expert care. We have all started this fight to save Arisa Paul, so please help in anyway you can to get him abroad, because its not over until it’s all over.Thank you is not big enough to show how much I appreciate all the effort everyone is making to save my friend’s life, He is going to be our Testimony. Let’s save Arisa Paul, please continue to share this campaign.
