FG successfully repatriates 190 Nigerian citizens from the UAE
The Federal Government has successfully brought 190 Nigerians home from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as announced by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
This development was confirmed by Neusroom on Tuesday, a day after the UAE lifted its visa restrictions on Nigerians.
According to the statement signed by NEMA Director General, Bashir Garga, the returnees arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 5:57 AM on Tuesday.
A combined team of government officials, led by NEMA, received the returnees upon arrival. The statement from NEMA detailed the measures taken to ensure the proper reintegration of the returnees into Nigerian society. “The returnees were profiled and documented by the relevant agencies and sensitized to behave with decorum and responsibility on their return to Nigeria,” the statement read.
Bashir Garga emphasized the importance of the returnees conducting themselves responsibly. “The federal government urges all Nigerians, wherever they may be, to act as exemplary ambassadors of their country, upholding the fundamental values of patriotism, the rule of law, decency, and integrity,” he added.

This recent repatriation effort follows a similar operation last October when the Federal Government repatriated a total of 542 Nigerians from the UAE.
The returnees, having undergone necessary profiling and documentation by relevant agencies, were also educated on the importance of upholding the country’s values. The federal government reiterated its call for Nigerians abroad to remain exemplary ambassadors by demonstrating patriotism, adhering to the rule of law, and maintaining decency and integrity.
This operation highlights the government’s commitment to the welfare of its citizens abroad and ensures their safe return and reintegration.
