Federal Government Declares Oct 1 as Public Holiday for Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary
The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 1, as a public holiday to celebrate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary. The declaration was made by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, following a statement from the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended heartfelt congratulations to Nigerians both at home and abroad, acknowledging their resilience and dedication. He emphasized the importance of recognizing the sacrifices made by hardworking citizens, assuring them that their efforts will not go unnoticed.

Echoing the theme of the anniversary, the minister encouraged citizens to reflect on the contributions of the nation’s heroes past and draw inspiration for the future. “A Nigeria of our dreams can only be built when we unite,” he stated, urging all to embrace the spirit of togetherness.
