Adebayo Olaopa was a talented independent media production professional but you probably never heard of him. And that is okay. But everyone who has worked with him can attest to his ingenuity and brilliance.

Sadly he has passed on and will no longer be blessing us with his amazing array of skills and expertise from over eight years working in the multimedia and television industry.

Educated at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone with a degree in Geography/Geology, the multi talented producer and voiceover artist has worked on virtually all the biggest TV shows in Nigeria. From Maltina Dance All to BBC’s Story Story to the reality show Star Quest.

In January 2008, Felix joined Vivid Features International, an international specialist film production company as a creative director. While at Vivid, he produced several documentaries, television commercials and infomercials for clients such as CNN, Chevron, UNICEF, BBC and so on.

By 2009, he had moved on Funmi Iyanda’s Ignite Media as content manager/creative lead where he was responsible for generating creative content for clients.

But it was during the Maltina Dance All Family Reality Show Season 5, that Felix’s talent really came to the fore.

He worked on that show as an assistant director for Jungle Filmworks, producers of the show, where he was responsible for making sure all crew members, equipment and contestants on the show were ready for the start of shooting everyday.

All this time, Felix has been working actively with Kreativiti Warehouse, where he was a partner until his untimely death. The production company was involved in concept generation, event management, audio and video productions.

Felix never let his physical limitations slow him down; he was chronically affected by asthma. It would eventually claim his life on August 25, 2016.

In a cruel twist of fate, he passed away in the same Surulere hospital as his father, who passed away many years ago.

He is survived by his wife and step son, Olumide Oworu; a young actor on the popular TV series The Johnsons.

His body will be buried on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the Atan Cemetery at Yaba.
