Eid-el-Maulud: Pres. Tinubu Mourns 40 Killed in Auto Crash
President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, has commiserated with the Tijjaniyya Movement in Nigeria after 40 of its members died in an accident on Sunday during the Eid-el-Maulud celebrations.
The President’s condolences were contained in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday.
In the statement titled “President Tinubu Mourns 40 Participants Killed in Auto Crash,” Pres Tinubu mandated the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) to check the spate of road accidents by effectively monitoring the highways.
The fatalities occured during the Eid-el-Maulud celebration to mark the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

The muslim faithfuls were said to be travelling from Kwandari in Plateau State to Saminaka, Kaduna State to partake in the celebrations.
An eyewitness confirmed that their bus crashed with an oncoming truck near the town of Lere.
Besides the death toll, scores of persons were left injured, with many still receiving medical attention in hospitals.
Onanuga disclosed that, the President “extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and injured, as well as to the governments of Kaduna and Plateau states.”
