EFCC Arrests Syndicate For Impersonation, Blackmail Of Ex NPA Boss

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken into custody a syndicate for allegedly impersonating its Chairman, Mr Ola Olukoyede, and using same identity to perpetrate a million dollar fraud.

This was revealed  in a statement by the EFCC Spokesman, Dele Oyewale, on Thursday in Abuja.

According to him, the alleged fraudsters impersonated the EFCC Chairman and used the false identity to contact and initiate a deal with a former Managing Director of the Nigeria Port Authority (NPA), Mr Mohammed Bello-Koko.

The fraudsters proceeded to threaten Bello-Koko under the guise that the Commission was carrying out an inquest into his alleged shady deals during his reign as NPA Boss.

Oyewale disclosed that Bello-Koko was threatened with possible arrest if he failed to corperate with them.
