Edo Decides: Money sharing galore and other things that shouldn’t be happening

Edo State residents are voting for their next governor today.
The polls are considered a head-to-head race between Godwin Obaseki of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Here are reports of some not so great things marring the conduct of the election.
Alleged APC agents were filmed at an unidentified polling unit handing out N2,000 to voters who were instructed to thumb print multiple times.

“Frustrated” voters seat on the grass at Okponha Primary School, Ugbogui, after reported delay in use of card reader.

At Oredo Ward ll, an agent of the National Conscience Party (NCP) reportedly “gave signs to electorates beside the ballot box,” the Naton reported. The unit reportedly degenerated into “chao” after other party agents noticed.
Security operatives reportedly denied accredited journalists passage at Ramat Park by Auchi Junction.

APC leaders reportedly shared money among voters in Asoro Primary School, Sapele Road; and Ikpoba Hill.

Another “APC leader” in Unit 8, Ward 12 of Egor local government area reportedly fights an electorate that prevented him from sharing money.

Police allegedly protecting “APC” agents who are offering money to voters at Ward 9, Esan Central.

An “APC chieftain” allegedly shares voters’ card to “imported thugs” in Benin.
