Dino Melaye finally gives himself up for arrest
Senator Dino Melaye has finally surrendered to the police following an 8-day siege at his residence in Maitama, Abuja.
Police allege that the lawmaker ordered the shooting of one of its operatives last July. Melaye claims innocence.
He was locked behind his gates since police arrived his residence to arrest him days after Christmas.
Police spokesperson Jimoh Moshood said on Friday (today) that Melaye has given himself up for arrest.
Melaye’s trouble with the police began early last year, when he was declared wanted for allegedly sponsoring political thugs in Kogi.
