Court remands man in prison for killing friend over motorcycle in Ogun
A 40-year-old man, Jamiu Olanrewaju has been arraigned before an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court on Monday for allegedly killing his friend, Abey Sesu.
Police prosecutor, Insp. Olubisi Lawrence, informed the court that Olanrewaju had conspired with others at large to strangle the 31-year-old Sesu in Elegbo Village, Abeokuta, around 1 a.m on September 25.
The prosecutor added that the cause of Sesu’s death was an argument over a balance payment for a motorcycle which Sesu bought from a friend of the accused.
Lawrence also alleged that Olanrewaju had seized the motorcycle from the deceased some days before he was killed.
Olanrewaju pleaded not guilty of the two charges of conspiracy and murder levelled against him.
The accused was further ordered to be remanded in prison by Magistrate, Mr Onagorowa until an advice from the Ogun State Director of Public Prosecutions is given.
The case was adjourned till December 28.
