Court Dismisses Case Against Ganduje’s APC Leadership
The Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a lawsuit challenging the appointment of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The suit, filed by the North Central APC Forum, was dismissed by Justice Inyang Ekwo on the grounds of the plaintiff’s lack of legal standing.
Justice Ekwo, in his ruling on Monday, upheld the preliminary objections raised by both the APC and Ganduje. The judge agreed with the 2nd defendant’s argument that the claimant, led by Saleh Zazzaga, lacked the locus standi to file the suit. He also noted that the North Central APC Forum, as an unregistered entity, lacked the juristic personality to bring legal action.
“The claimant has no locus standi to institute the suit, and the APC group lacks the juristic personality to file the case,” Ekwo said, emphasising that the plaintiff failed to present a certificate of registration from the Corporate Affairs Commission.

Also, Justice Ekwo ruled that the internal affairs of the APC, including the appointment of its officers, are not subject to court intervention.
“The subject matter is an internal affair of the political party, I hereby strike out the suit for lack of locus standi,” he added.
The North Central APC Forum had challenged Ganduje’s appointment, arguing that it violated the APC Constitution as he hails from Kano in the North West geopolitical zone, not the North Central. The court, however, dismissed the suit in its entirety.
