CBN extends BVN exercise

Breathe…breathe…breathe…
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has extended its Bank Verification Number (BVN) registration and allocation till October 31, 2015.
“It has come to our notice that the BVN registration has elicited tremendous interest from the Nigerian bank customers who crowded the banking halls in order to beat the deadline,” CBN said in a statement on Tuesday.
“In view of the foregoing, it has become imperative for the banks to extend the timeline for all customers to have the BVN.
“The deadline for the enrolment is hereby extended from June 30 to Oct. 31,’’ the statement read.
Keep calm…but ensure to register before then.
“But I trust Nigerians,” someone told Newsroom when he heard the news.
“They will not rush to the bank until October 31 to form long queues.”
“And they will not do it until 3:59 p.m. on the new deadline,” he said.
