Carpenter, 47, dumps only daughter inside well to please pregnant lover
A carpenter, Thompson Agena, allegedly dumped his six-year-old daughter inside a well.
47-year-old Agena, who lost his first wife at childbirth, was reportedly pushed into the act by his new found love.
Agena, a native of Awe Local Government Area of Nassarawa State, said his girlfriend argued that she wouldn’t want to raise a family with a witch around her.
Agena alleged that his new lover had threatened to abort her pregnancy and quit their relationship if he failed to take action.
The suspect was said to have met Joy Orkuma where he enrolled for a part-time diploma programme at the Nasarawa State Polytechnic a year after his wife’s demise.
She soon became pregnant shortly after they fell in love.
Orkuma allegedly asked that he got rid of his six-year-old daughter.
The six-year-old body of the girl was discovered the next day when a farmer named Joseph Kula wanted to use the well.
Kula raised an alarm and neighbours rallied to recover the lifeless body from the well.
Agena, who has since been arrested by the police and charged to court, attributed his heinous action to an overpowering love for his new girlfriend.
He claimed he was sacred of losing her and the pregnancy she had for him.
