Bus crushes two to death in Delta after losing control
A commercial bus going to Bomadi in Delta state reportedly killed two persons inside a shop after it lost control on Friday.
Both victims, Vanguard reports, were confirmed dead at the hospital they were rushed to. The incident reportedly prompted angry residents to storm the office of the Delta City transport in Bomadi in an attempt to burn down the vehicles.
The aggrieved residents were, however, reportedly prevented from carrying out the plan by members of the Operation Safe Delta (OSD). One of the company’s staff, reports say, hurriedly locked the gate of the office and ran away.
A staff of the transport company reportedly confirmed that the victims who were hit by the bus died on Saturday but passengers in the vehicle were safe.
“If not for the intervention of the army, they would have burnt down the station and buses at the station,” he said.
