Bus crashes into embankment, kills 4, injures 30

Paramedics and emergency workers found the bus parked on the side of road N1 some 20km away from Louis Trichdardt in Limpopo, South Africa, Wednesday morning.

Paramedics found four passengers had died on the scene with one of the bodies trapped underneath the bus.

30 passengers sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical.

“Paramedics treated the patients and provided some with advanced life support intervention,” ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring said.

“A medical helicopter was also called to the scene to assist in the treatment and transportation of some of the patients. Once treated, all the patients were transported to various hospitals in the area for urgent treatment.”

Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing..
