Buhari, Ganduje, others commiserate with Kyari over daughter’s demise
Fatima, the daughter of Mele Kyari, the group chief executive officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, has been reportedly declared deceased.
Condolences have poured in after the painful loss to Mele Kyari. Kyari who is the Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited lost his daughter, Fatima on Friday after a protracted illness at the age of 25.
Vice-President Kashim Shettima led other mourners to the funeral prayers for the deceased at the Annur mosque in Abuja, the country’s capital
Shettima, while speaking peaceful repose of the deceased, asked God to grant the family members the strength to bear the painful exit of their daughter, who was in her prime.
While it is already established that she is dead, based on credible report from PUNCH, the bereaved father has been really quiet and has not given an official statement.
Former president, Buhari also sent his condolences and urged the family to be strong and leave it to Allah.
He said, “I am shocked and deeply pained to learn about the passing away of your daughter, Fatima.“It is very painful to accept that she has left the world at such a tender age, but Allah, who gave her to you, knows best. My deepest and most heartfelt condolences are with your family in this hour of intense grief”.
In a separate statement, The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, on Saturday expressed sorrow on the untimely death of Fatima.
He noted that no amount of comforting words can take away the pain that comes with losing a child.
He prayed that God will comfort the bereaved family and grant them them the fortitude to bear the loss
He noted, “Our thoughts and prayers are with Mallam Mele Kyari and his entire family in this very difficult moment. We pray that Almighty Allah grants the departed eternal rest and gives the family the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss”.
