“Buhari can go wherever he pleases” – Aide shuts critics of president’s Kano trip
Lauretta Onochie, Personal Assistant on Social Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, has reacted to the backlashes directed at the president.
Buhari was yesterday, March 3, lambasted for making the day’s trip to Kano for the wedding of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s daughter, Fatima, and the son of Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, Idris.
The president led other high-profile guests like Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and governors from several states to the occasion.
Buhari’s critics, however, lamented that the nation’s leader was yet to visit hot spots in the country, saying despite the killings in Benue and other states and the recent abduction of Dapchi girls, Buhari ignored those places for a wedding.
In her reaction to the criticism, Onochie said the president is an adult, adding that he is matured enough to decide wherever he goes.
She wrote: “President @MBuhari is an adult. He decides where he goes. He decided it’s Kano today. And to Kano he went.”
Though president Buhari has not visited troubled areas in the country in person, he has sent government representatives, as well as set up committees to look into the cause of the tragedies.
