Fubara is PDP’s leader in Rivers, not you – Bode George tells Wike
Bode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has sued for reconciliation between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike for peace to return to Rivers State.
This is also as George said Fubara is now the leader of the PDP in Rivers and not the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister.
This is coming on the heels of the recent spate of violence that engulfed the oil-rich state in the aftermath of the Saturday local government elections.
There were disturbing incidences in Rivers on Monday when rampaging hoodlums caused mayhem in four council secretariats, including Eleme, Ikwerre, Ahoada East, and Emohua.

Bode George calls for peace in Rivers
Reacting to the development, George said his main interest is seeing peace reign in the oil-rich state again.
He spoke on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday.
The elder statesman stressed that he was not going to take sides with anybody but would want justice, equity, and fairness in the state’s political affairs.
However, George noted that the Governor is the leader of the PDP in the state and needs the support of everyone in the party to succeed.
“Justice is, who is the leader of the party in the state? It is not the minister, it is this governor,” George said.
“So, we have to stand by him – the beauty of it is he stated categorically that he wasn’t leaving the party and then they carried out this election,” he said.
George revealed that he and other members of the PDP Board of Trustees have made some attempts to reconcile both Wike and Fubara.
“I spoke with the chairman of the board of trustees and then made an attempt with a group of BOT members to visit Fubara to listen to his side and then after I spoke with Wike that he should give an appointment that we are coming to see him.
“He told me that after he returns from China he will be ready to meet with them. Unfortunately, they have been there but I have not been, so I don’t know what the outcome is,” he said.
