Benue Governor Gives Civil Servants Two Weeks Off for Festive Celebrations
Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, has declared a two-week holiday for Civil Servants in the State to mark the Christmas and New year celebrations.
He made this known during a press briefing at the government house in the state capital, Makurdi, on Tuesday.
Alia set the dates for December, 24 all through to January 6, 2025.
The Governor noted that the move will allow civil servants the opportunity to enjoy the festive period with their friends and families.
“I urge you to seize the opportunity of this long holiday to attend to your agricultural pursuit by engaging in farming activities so that there will be abundance of food in the state,” the Governor said.
The Governor, however, pointed out that banks, energy providers, and security agencies will run as normal during the said period.
