BAD BLOOD: Seun Egbegbe and brother turn on each over fraud case

The age-long adage, “blood is thicker than water” might not hold water in the case of embattled Ebony films boss, Seun Egbegbe and his brother.
Egbegbe, who is facing multiple charges of theft and fraud, has reportedly fingered his younger brother, Lawal Kareem, as an accomplice.
Lawal has been arrested alongside two others, Olalekan Yusuf, and Muyideen Shoyombo, after they were implicated by Egbegbe.
Egbege and one Oyekan Ayomide were caught in February after allegedly attempting to dupe one Alhaji Isa Adamu.
The accused pleaded not guilty to a 40-count charge when they were arraigned.
Following Lawal’s arrest, police on Monday presented an amended charge before Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The amended charge, which reads that the three new suspects were involved in conspiring to obtain the sum of N2,450,000 and 3,000 pounds from Adamu, will enable the police arraign all suspects in the case against Egebgbe.
Lawal, however, told reporters at the police command in Ikeja that Egbegbe only wanted to incriminate him.
He said, “On the day Seun was arrested at Ikeja, it was my boss that told me that he saw the story on Facebook and went to Area F to see him.
“But after then, he was charged to court and I didn’t go to see him, only for me to receive an SMS from him saying that he heard I was partying while he was languishing in prison.”
Seun Egbegbe still has an outstanding iPhone theft case.
