ARRESTED: Housekeeper initially “escapes” to Taraba after “killing” Lagos boss

A Lagos housekeeper who allegedly killed his employer has been arrested in far away Taraba State.

Tanko Abdulateef allegedly stabbed Mrs. Mabel Okafor in the stomach at her apartment on Close 9, Victoria Garden City, Ajah, on August 17. He also, allegedly stole valuables, including phones, cloths and trinkets, the woman.

Okafor died from her wounds.

The police made Abdulateef, 22, their prime suspect after he reportedly fled the apartment on the day of the incident.

The housekeeper was found and arrested by the police from a hideout in northern Nigeria two weeks after he fled. All the stolen items were reportedly recovered from him after his arrest.

Lagos State’s police Rapid Response Squad said they tracked the suspect to the Bali area in Taraba State.

Lagos police spokesperson Dolapo Badmos said Abdulateef has been handed over to the SCIID for further investigation before being charged to court.
