APC Unlikely to Cross 15,000 Votes in Kano by 2027 – Kwankwaso

Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso

Rabiu Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano State and Presidential candidate of the NNPP at the 2023 Presidential elections, has announced plans to reduce the influence of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. Speaking at a recent meeting with New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) stakeholders in Tsanyawa Local Government Area, Kwankwaso set an ambitious target for the 2027 elections: limiting the APC to fewer than 15,000 votes in Kano.

The NNPP’s strong showing in the 2023 gubernatorial election demonstrated its growing influence. Despite being a relatively new party with a late campaign start, it secured 1,019,602 votes, surpassing the APC’s 890,705. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) trailed far behind with just 15,957 votes.

Reflecting on the party’s performance, He described the NNPP’s success as a “remarkable feat.” He credited the outcome to the dedication of party members and their ability to mobilize support under challenging circumstances.
