Amotekun Arrest Phone Thieves in Ekiti
Men of the Ekiti State Command of Western Nigeria Security Network popularly known as ‘Amotekun’ have arrested a man for allegedly stealimg a phone.
This much was revealed by the Head of Communications, Ekiti Amotekun Corps, Abiodun Adeleye, in a statement released in the state capital, Ado-Ekiti, on Monday.
The suspect aged 19 and identified as identified as Samuel was caught at Oye Ekiti, Oye Local Government area headquarters while allegedly trying to snatch another’s phone.
After interrogation, the suspect is said to have confessed the identity of two alleged co-thieves, one Garuba and Tosin.

Both men were then arrested in the community.
“The arresting Amotekun officers at Oye Ekiti stated that the suspect, Samuel, upon interrogation, confessed his involvement in such stealing act.
“He alleged that he was involved in phone snatching and connived with a syndicate, 20 years old Sanusi Garuba, 20 years old. He further mentioned another co-suspect, Tosin, who he said lured him into theft to have become an expert at phone snatching.
“The principal suspect and the two others have been handed over to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Oye Ekiti for necessary action and further interrogation,” the Spokesman revealed.
Adeleye used the opportunity to fire a warning to criminal elements in the state on Amotekun’s zeal to rid the state of their menace.
