Amina Ali: Rescued Chibok girl wants Boko Haram “husband” reunion
Baffling is an understatement to describe the confession made by one of the captured Chibok girl, Amina Ali Nkeki who escaped from a Boko Haram camp in May as she has claimed “I am not comfortable with the way I’m being kept from him.”
Three months after escaping the terrorist camp, the mother of one says she misses her Boko Haram fighter husband and is still thinking about him.
You will recall that Amina Ali is one of the over 200 girls Boko Haram abducted in April, 2014 from a government school in Chibok, Borno State.
Amina, 21, her questionable husband Mohammed Hayatu and her daughter, Safiya, were found on the outskirts of Nigeria’s Sambisa Forest in May after they fled the camp.
Although Hayatu claimed he was also kidnapped by Boko Haram, he was placed in military detention for interrogation and was later released “secretly”.
Amina Ali, Tuesday, spoke CNN. It was the first time she’d speak with any media outfit since her well-publicised meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
“I want you to know that I’m still thinking about you, and just because we are separated doesn’t mean I have forgotten about you,” she said.
This has taken Nigerians and other international bodies by surprise. Her confession comes after Boko Haram released a video showing supposed dead bodies of young women among other things.
