Alleged fake herbalist defrauds woman of N14,500 money for protection charm

A Magistrates’ Court in Ota, Ogun State on Wednesday (today) heard the case of an alleged fraudster, Afirosi Akinsola, who used charm to defraud his victim.

Akinsola, the court heard, collected a sum of N14,500 from his victim, Blessing Oladele, for a protection charm. The alleged fake herbalist was said to have collected the sum on October 25 in Olohunda, Atan, Ota, around 10 a.m.

Police prosecutor, Sgt. Chudu Gbesi, informed the court that Blessing had gone back to the fake herbalist for a refund of her money since he failed to deliver the charm to her, but the accused threatened her life.

Afirosi, however, pleaded not guilty of the charges.

He was granted a bail of N5,000 with two sureties that are gainfully employed, and also have a proof of tax payment to Ogun Government.

The case was adjourned to November 21 for hearing.
