You may not want to go to Ajah area of Lagos today. Agents of Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) have reportedly angered some traders as well as yellow bus (danfo) drivers, and “thugs.”

The officials seized goods of local traders and towed “defaulting” commercial danfo buses out of the area, reports say.

Local touts are irked. They retaliated by burning tyres and blocking off the Lekki-Ajah expressway, witnesses say.

Residents in the area are allegedly staying indoors for fear of being caught in the “crossfire.”

Some of them reported hearing gunshots allegedly fired by policemen who were called in to restore order. They said the police also used teargas on the protesting “thugs.”
