After big man’s son “raped” his girl, father “demands N5,000 to bury the case”

The fatherhood credentials of a polygamous Nigerian man are being questioned after he allegedly attempted covering up a serious issue he should be agitating for.
A said teenager and alleged serial rapist allegedly defiled Mr Adedoyin’s 14-year-old daughter, but the Nigerian husband of two is said to be angry with one of his wives for reporting the case to the police.
Adedoyin, a carpenter, allegedly benefits financially by buying wood on credit from a sawmill owner in Ota, Ogun State.
It was the businessman’s teenage son who raped Adeoyin’s daughter, it is being alleged.
“It is not the first time the boy would do that,” one of Adedoyin’s wives who blew the whistle said.
“We even fear that the boy’s father is using his son to steal fortunes from the girls the boy rapes. I decided to speak out because it’s just not right. Even thought the girl is not my daughter, and even though I have issues with his mother, I just couldn’t keep quiet about this.”
The victim’s own mother allegedly listened to Adedoyin’s “instructions” not to speak about the issue so the relationship between the sawmill businessman and the carpenter would not be soiled.
But since her marital rival already sounded the alarm, the police say they are taking the case up no matter what.
Blogger Mike Ile visited Ota recently and spoke extensively with some of the parties involved.
“Family members from both families converged on the police station and were unanimous in attacking the carpenter’s wife for reporting the rape to law enforcement,” Ile wrote on Facebook, Wednesday night.
“The carpenter even declared his marriage to his wife dissolved because ‘she has disobeyed my orders and shown that she cannot respect me.’
“Meanwhile, the police have made it clear that the case cannot be withdrawn because it is now The State vs The Accused.
“The rapist is presently at large but his parents have undertaken to bring him to the police after the festivities,” he wrote.
The wife who reported the “recounted how the culprit’s family attempted to bribe her with N2,000 to soft pedal with the police case,” Ile said.
“She rejected their offer. But her husband insisted that, as the father of the girl, all monies should be given to him. And he collected N5,000 from them.”
This would make it the second time a child belonging to the Ota carpenter would be molested, we understand. It’s unclear if those responsible for the first molestation were brought to book..
