Adamawa: Many feared dead in fresh suicide bombing attack

Many people are feared dead in a suicide bombing attack that rocked Madagali town in Adamawa early Friday morning.

NAN reports that the explosion occurred near a checkpoint at the entrance of the town.

“We heard three blasts near the checkpoint where people gathered to be screened before entering the town as you know today is market day,” a witness, identified as Baba, said.

“The suicide bombers blew themselves up alongside the two vigilante members that approached them.”

A member representing Madagali/Michika Federal Constituency, Mr Adamu Kamale however said no persons were injured in the attack.

“Information available to me showed that there was no death in the blast, except that some people sustained injuries,” he said.

Back in December, twin explosions rocked the grains section of a market in Madagali.

Fleeing Boko Haram members have reportedly become more daring with their attacks, knocking on doors to release explosives on residents.
