Abuja father caught impersonating daughter for UTME exam, faces 6 months jail term
Jide Josiah Jisos has been sentenced to six months in prison by a Chief Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja after his plot to assist his daughter pass her UTME examination was uncovered by exam officials.
According to reports, he arrived at his daughter’s centre, Brix Academy, Abuja in the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination disguising to be a representative of a non-governmental Organisation and claimed he was there to oversee the examination.
JAMB spokesman, Fabian Benjamin in statement said when he quizzed Mr Jisos to clarify his purpose, he sounded dissonant as he could not substantiate his claims.
The culprit was further handed over to security personnel for further investigation.
The statement from Mr Benjamin read, “However, his deception was uncovered when he was questioned by the leader of the monitoring team in the examination hall, who asked him to clarify his purpose”.
“Unable to substantiate his claims, Jisos was arrested and handed over to security personnel for further investigation. During interrogation, he confessed that he was not affiliated with any NGO and was actually in the examination hall to assist his daughter in taking the 2019 UTME”.
Chief Magistrate Honourable Justice Folashade Oyekan found Jisos guilty of a one-count charge of impersonation and sentenced him to six months in prison, with an option of a N100,000 fine”
