Abdullahi Ganduje’s Mother-in-Law Passes Away

Court Dismisses Case Against Ganduje's APC Leadership

Hajiya Asiya Muhammad Gauyama, the mother-in-law of Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has passed away.

Her death, which came barely 24 hours after Vice President Kashim Shettima lost his mother-in-law, Maryam Albishir, was announced by Ganduje’s Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday, June 24, 2024.

The statement expressed the family’s deep sorrow and highlighted the significant impact of Hajiya Asiya Gauyama’s life.

“It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt sympathy that we announce the passing of Hajiya Asiya Muhammad Gauyama, the beloved mother of Professor Hafsatu Ganduje, the wife of the National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje,” it read.

In accordance with Islamic rites, the funeral prayer is scheduled for 2 pm today at Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s residence on Miyangu Road, Kano.

“A funeral prayer will be offered in Kano today before her interment, in line with Islamic tenets,” Olofu disclosed.

According to Olofu, Gauyama will be remembered as a revered matriarch who was deeply committed to her family, community, and faith.

“Her passing is a profound loss, not only to her immediate family but also to all who knew and loved her,” Olofu said.
