3 suspected car snatchers, bandits accosted in Kaduna
Kaduna Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mansir Hassan in a statement said that three car snatchers, Kefas Danladi, 24, Usman Salisu, 23, and Yusuf Danladi, 22 have been arrested after stealing a Toyata Avalon.
The police posed as potential buyers and apprehended them while trying to sell the car to them.
In their confession, the trio said they stole the Toyota car from a residence in Naval Quarters, Asokoro, Abuja.
The statement also noted that the car has been recovered and in custody of the police. It further stated that the owner of the vehicle has been contacted.
In another operation, the statement read that a suspected notorious bandit, Aliyu Umar was arrested on 16 December, 2024 with eight AK-47 magazines and 50 rounds of live ammunition.
“On December 16, 2024, at about 1800 hours, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit led by their OC SP Sani Ibrahim, acting based on credible information, successfully intercepted and arrested a 22-year-old suspect, Aliyu Umar, in Zaria”.
“The suspect was apprehended in possession of eight AK-47 magazines and 50 rounds of live AK-47 ammunition”, it disclosed.
Umar, during investigation confessed to being part of a notorious gang terrorizing Zamfara state.
