15 injured as bus carrying teenagers crashes in France
Two people are fighting for their lives while 13 others sustained injuries when a bus carrying teenagers from Wales tipped over on a motorway in eastern France on Saturday.
The two seriously hurt were flown to specialist hospitals while the others are being treated near the scene, reports say.
The bus, heading for Italy, crashed on its side on a motorway near Lons-le-Saunier, near the Swiss border, local media are reporting.
A total of 50 people were on board the bus which took off from north Wales. 44 of them were teenagers aged 14 to 17 while the remaining six were adults including two drivers.
The bus ended on its side in a ditch. Two helicopters were dispatched to the site.
A Foreign Office spokesman has confirmed the incident.
“We are providing support to a group of British nationals following a coach crash in France. We are in contact with the relevant local authorities,” he said..
